ON RACISM

Art Blair shared Bev Collier's note: On Racism. Bev Collier wrote a new note: ON RACISM. Because racism does not affect us white folk in the same way as it does people of color, it is easy to underestimate the pain and suffering that they endure on a daily basis. Our white privilege allows us to place it back on a remote shelf at anytime and ignore it. White folks don't have to talk about racism. It does not directly affect us. We don't have to fear that our sons will be arr ested, sent to prison or even killed for a minor action. Our character is not judged by the color of our skin. White people need to look beyond our privilege and learn to listen to and strive to understand those most affected by racism. We have no business judging or instructing people of color on racism. They know full well what racism is and how it affects their lives and the lives of their children and grandchildren! If we sincerely care about racism in this country we need to accept that

Contractor And "Sportin' Man"

Then Not much is known about T. C. Windham prior to his arrival in Birmingham, Alabama in 1910's: only that he came from Arkansas, where he had substantial business interests. it is known that he was already a man of considerable wealth who had great skills as a builder and contractor. At the time of his arrival, many of the city's prominent black professional and white-collar workers lived in Smithfield, a community just to the west of the Birmingham, Alabama city center. Windham soon bought a block of real estate in Smithfield and built a two-story brick mansion that reflected not only his wealth, but also his business abilities. Located on Eighth Avenue North, it featured the best contemporary craftsmanship, including elaborately carved woodwork, stained glass, and fine furnishings. Working with his brother, R. L. Windham, Windham went on to build many other residences in the area. But it is the churches and commercial projects that now highlight the Windham const

The Democrats

Let's get one thing straight!!! The Democrats didn't lose badly on Tuesday because of low black voter turn out. They lost because of the inherent conflict between equality and white privilege. This conflict has existed since the beginning of the nation. When many whites hear affordable health care, reduced prison populations, and raising the minimum wage, they hear someone doing something for black people. Despite the fact that these are good polices, they simply don't resonate in the minds of people with deep seeded racial animus who are invested in privilege and inequality.

Slave Owners Feared Baptism Would Make Slaves Free

Legislation was passed in several colonies, beginning in 1667 in Virginia, stipulating that baptism would not change slaves’ legal status.  This led to an increase in missionary activities to slaves because conversion did not imply emancipation. Short lived do to slave revolts. Slave owners regarded the substantial time required for religious instruction as uneconomical Slave owners argued that slaves were intellectually incapable of understanding the subtleties of Christian doctrine Slave owners were uncomfortable with the concept of spiritual equality between master and slave Spiritual equality would call into question the enslavement of fellow Christians Slave owners feared that conversion would make slaves more difficult to control and perhaps precipitate insurrection Some missionaries attempted to counter this fear by arguing that conversion would make slaves more docile and industrious. This was short lived after the enslaved revolts.

DEATH WISH 101: Four (4) Reasons Black Men Should Avoid Drugs and Alcohol at all Cost.

You ever wonder why hip-hop music is the genre that is most uniquely focused on big, white corporations paying black men to brag about how high and drunk they are? You think this is a coincidence? Sorry, but it’s not. There is a reason why an artist rapping about smoking and drinking will usually get a deal before a rapper who spits about being intelligent and hard-working. Much of this is because there are people who have a vested interest in seeing black men weak and easily built for incarceration or execution. To understand where I’m coming from, think about the actions of a pimp. When a pimp is seeking to control his hooker, one of the things he might do is keep his “employee” high, dependent, thoughtless and off-balance. If he/she needs their pimp for the drug and has a frazzled mind, the pimp will always have control. So, the point here is that America has been working to consistently pimp the black man (slavery was the ultimate form of pimping), and one of the ways they

EboLIE.!!!

EboLIE.!!! That disease was made to kill some Africans/African Americans off yes, mainly Africans, but it is not meant to wipe us out and kill us off completely . They developed other methods that do this. Ebola is only one of many. Ps They do want to develop a much stronger virus to do so. But it is down the line in there agenda. In my opinion Colloidal Silver is the answer to curing the body of "any and all illnesses."

When a pimp is seeking to control his hooker.......

"When a pimp is seeking to control his hooker, one of the things he might do is keep his “employee” high, dependent, thoughtless and off-balance. If he/she needs their pimp for the drug and has a frazzled mind, the pimp will always have control. So, the point here is that America has been working to consistently pimp the black man (slavery was the ultimate form of pimping), and one of the ways they do it is by promoting imagery designed to make you want to be a high/drunk/ignorant/violent super thug." The Release Of Two African-American Men

"The release of two African-American men from prison in North Carolina after 30 years of incarceration for a murder they didn’t commit is yet another example of the American justice system’s racist targeting of African-Americans as the supposed primary criminal class in the country.        Between this outrageous case, the recent police broad daylight execution of Mike Brown, and the choke hold killing of Eric Garner, we must ask: isn’t it time we launch a movement to defeat the raci st law enforcement and criminal justice system’s systematic war on Black-America?        Why do we still pretend as if these are random isolated unconnected occurrences? This week’s news of the release of Henry Lee McCollum and Leon Brown after 30 years in jail for the 1983 rape and murder of an 11 year-old girl, represent another case of the gross miscarriage of justice."
