Black power is in your pocket...

Martin Luther King’s said in his mission statement for ‘Operation Breadbasket’: “Negroes need not patronize a business which denies them jobs, advancement [or] plain courtesy’’. He also advised African-Americans to support their own businesses. That they’d failed to take heed of this advice is now devastatingly apparent from New York to New Orleans and from Califo rnia to Chicago. The ‘Negro’ had dropped the collective ball in pursuit of individual goals. They had failed to realize that the most important battle against white supremacy is economic. Indeed, everything the Devil has done has been for monetary reasons…every African enslaved; every Native-American scalped; every foreign land stolen; every foodstuff poisoned; every tree felled; every school closed; every prison built; every bomb dropped; every oil well drained; every human killed; every animal slaughtered; every politician bought…the list goes on and on. ‘Money is the root of all evil’. And money best represents

Educators And Humanitarians

Born in Eufaula, Alabama, Carrie Tuggle was the daughter of a Mohawk chief and former slave. Around the turn of the century, she moved to Birmingham, Alabama in search of a career.        She became a social worker and counseled delinquent boys, often appearing with them in court. At that time juveniles were tried in the same court as adults. Mrs. Tuggle saw the injustice of this situation and was instrumental in the formation of the Jefferson County Juvenile and Domestic Court.        In 1903, she formed the Tuggle Institute in Enon Ridge as a school and residence for homeless boys. From a modest start, the Institute became an important factor in the advancement of Blacks. Outstanding graduates from Tuggle include businessman Dr. A. G. Gaston, and musicians John J.("Fess")Whatley and Erskine Hawkins.        The Birmingham Board of Education purchased Toggle Institute in 1934 and later named it Tuggle Elementary School. Man Facing Execution Pens Chilling Letter Full Of Truths You Can't Deny

I'm gonna allow this video to speak for itself as it breathes life into an issue that is ever growing and impedes upon everyone in one way or another both here in America and abroad. After you watch the video I ask that you leave a comment telling me what you thought about what was said.  Prisons are privately owned companies/ corporations which acquire free labor from their inmates. The inmates are paid only pennies on the dollar if that much. Prisons commit "crimes" by the boat load "everyday." However, the thing about that is that the common man and woman never hear about it unless there's a news report on it. From jailhouse corruption, to jailhouse sex rings, to money laundering, to over crowded jails/ prisons, to inadequate prisoner healthcare, to over crowded jail cells, etc. I could go on but, I think you get the jist. Regrettably, the video has been pulled.

From Slave To Inventor

Born a slave on a plantation near Mt. Pinson, Andrew Jackson Beard had no formal education. He learned instead how to care for animals, make plants grow, and fix things when they broke. Because he was gifted with imagination and intelligence, young Andrew excelled at all these tasks, especially the last. As a grown man working for the railroad, Beard created gadgets that solved on-the-job problems. His experiments soon led to an idea that was worth protecting with a patent. Since Beard could not read or write, he turned to Birmingham's mayor, Melville Drennen. With Drennen's help, Beard completed the necessary forms, and on July 5, 1892, he was granted a patent on a rotary engine. When he later saw a man lose an arm while trying to couple two rail cars together, he went to work on his most famous and profitable invention, the automatic car-coupling device. This invention not only saved lives and limbs of railroad workers around the world, it also made Beard a rich man; h

The Debate - Ebola Man Made?

I'm glad that "they" kept and continue to keep meticulous records on everything that they do and have done to the indigenous man and woman. Because we are able to visually see and audibly hear their evils that have been and are done in the name of "Science" and "Religion." Before I learned of their atrocities I was in utter disbelief because, they have to live on the same Earth that I live on.    The Ebola virus has a patent just like Aids, syphilis, herpes and all other "man made" viruses that have desolated man. (Oh and before I go any further "Obesity" is also a disease.) Whether here in North America, South America, Australia, Africa, Europe or Asia diseases affect everyone whether your the one with a disease or not.  Many of you may have asked yourselves why. Why would there be a patent on something that is so deadly towards the whole of man and mankind? Well, the answer is simple. The "Powers That Be" think

Pastor And Banker

W. R. Pettiford was born on his father's North Carolina farm in 1847. In his youth he worked for a tanner, then returned home to run the farm. In 1868, art the age of 21, Pettiford, who was then serving as a clerk in the Baptist church of Rocksboro, realized he had been called to spread the Gospel. By 1877, Pettiford's theological studies had led him to Selma University, where he became a member of the school's pioneer faculty. As an instructor, Pettiford was remembered by students and co-workers alike as a well-spoken, patient man who taught the advantages of hard work by example. He was also one of the most successful fundraisers the University ever had. After marrying Della Boyd of Selma, Pettiford left professorship for a pastor's duties at 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. Soon the Baptist pastor saw that many black workers employed in the area needed financial as well as spiritual advice. In 1890, the progressive clergyman organized the Ala

Black Wall Street

In 1921 a group of whites burnt the community in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the ground. It was the wealthiest Black community in United States. It was known as “Black Wall Street.” Fire bombs were dropped from airplanes. And hundreds of people were killed.  This knowledge was not acknowledged in state history records until 1996.  There has been more affluent "Black" communities where the homes of the residents were burned down, the residents were raped and killed all out of envy, drunken jealousy and blatant racism.   Greenwood is a neighborhood in Tulsa , Oklahoma . As one of the most successful and wealthiest African American communities in the United States during the early 20th Century, it was popularly known as America's "Black Wall Street" until the Tulsa Race Riot of 1921. The invasion was one of the most devastating massacres in the history of US race relations, destroying th

Criminals Of Permission

J-Jon - C.O.P ( Criminals Of Permission ) This song speaks about the supposed protectors of American society at large and it breaths clear visual light on the problem of violence that they perpetuate. They perpetuate violence, violent acts, bullying, thievery, rape, etc. Most people do not want to believe that though because, they cling on to the image of their slogan "To protect and serve." Now my question is: Who are they protecting and who are they serving?

Count Constantine

"Just think," [Count Constantine] de Volney declared incredulously, "that this race of Black men, today our slave and the object of our scorn, is the very race to which we owe our arts, sciences, and even the use of speech! Just imagine, finally, that it is in the midst of people who call themselves the greatest friends of liberty and humanity that one has approved the most barbarous slavery, and questioned whether Black men have the same kind of intelligence as whites! source: M. Constantine de Volney, Travels through Syria and Egypt in the Years 1783, 1784, and 1785 (London: 1787), p. 80-83.

Every Black Child In Grade School Is Taught..

Every black child in grade school is taught Adolph Hitler killed six million Jews and is the worst human being that ever lived. On the other hand our children are taught “The Right Honorable” Cecil Rhodes the founder of the De Beer Diamond Company in South Africa who killed ten times that number of Africans is a hero and a statesman and if they study hard and do well in school they may be eligible to win Rhodes Scholarships the oldest and most celebrated international fellowship awards in the world. They don’t mention the scholarships are paid for with the blood of their ancestors.

Black Women Are Particularly Vulnerable

"Black women are particularly vulnerable to the effects of European standards of beauty, because these standards emphasize skin colors and hair types that exclude many black women, especially those of darker skin. Using a social work lens, this article explores the black woman’s internalization of European beauty standards through family, peers, the media, and society, and the related outcomes of this internalization on self-perception, academic achievement, sexual behavior,  employment, marital status, and mental health. A review of the research indicates that European standards of beauty can have damaging effects on the life trajectories of black women, especially those with dark skin, primarily in the form of internalized self-hatred. Suggestions are made for social work practitioners to address the effects of these internalized European beauty standards among black women through programming and clinical practice."

John Henrik Clarke

“…for 500 years we have lived in a European-conceived intellectual universe. I am willing to acknowledge that i am influenced by this conception, but I am, at least, at war against it because i realize that it is not only detrimental to my people, it is detrimental to the whole world.” — John Henrik Clarke

Despite Its Proximity

Despite its proximity to Africa and the Middle East, along with all the existing archaeological and genetic evidence, Hollywood has refused to acknowledge that ancient Rome was a melting pot. In fact, before being sacked by the invading Slavic and Germanic tribes from Northern Europe, the original inhabitants were a dark-skinned people called the Etruscans. Even after the Nordic invasion, Blacks were not systematically restricted to the lower classes of Roman society. On the  contrary, some became emperors, writers, philosophers, entertainers, generals and popes. African-born Roman Emperor Septimius Severus began ruling the Roman Empire around 193 A.D. There were at least four other Black emperors after him. Lusius Quietus, originally born a Berber prince, was one of Rome’s greatest African generals. Upon re-examining an ancient Roman skeleton buried in a stone sarcophagus with luxury imports including jewelry made of elephant ivory, a mirror and a blue glass perfume jar,

Shout Out To Black Men In America

I wanna give a shout out to black men in America. The struggle of just being who you are. Living in this country that's not set up for you to succeed. Having to walk down these streets not knowing how your day will end up. Not knowing if you will be alive or hoping that you don't get locked up when you get pulled over. Being brainwashed to think that the life that your living is ok. Sagging your pants, calling each other nigga, disrespecting females by calling them bitches etc. Some of you don't know or want to know your history. You should, maybe you will change. My heart really goes out to you. When you look at people you have to take a psychological approach so you can understand why people are the way they are. Just because I understand it doesn't mean it is acceptable.  Change the way that you think and then you can make changes in the world.  Females we need to support our men. We need to respect ourselves. We need to encourage them to do the right thing. When

Let's be clear regarding Capitalism

"In principle, the notion of trade that is free and fair sounds ideal. But, across the world, the dominant ideological paradigm allows little scope for neither. Markets are rigged, commodity prices subject to manipulation and nations are coerced , destabilized or attacked in order that powerful players gain access to resources and markets." Colin Todhunter

Facts About Abraham Lincoln and his Views and Behavior regarding Africans/Blacks and Slavery

In the 1840s, the self-educated Abraham Lincoln represented slave owner Robert Matson, who wanted to once again enslave a free, mixed-race woman. Lincoln lost the case, and Jane Bryant and her children were declared officially free. They later settled in Liberia. In 1842, Lincoln married Mary Todd. Her family in Kentucky enslaved Black men and women. While serving as an elected representative in the Illinois legislature, Lincoln supported Zachary Taylor, a slave owner, in Taylor’s 1848 bid for the presidency. •One of Lincoln’s most representative public statements on the question of race relations was given in a speech in Springfield, Illinois, on June 26, 1857. In this address, he explained why he opposed the Kansas-Nebraska Act, which would have admitted Kansas into the Union as a slave state: ”There is a natural disgust in the minds of nearly all white people to the idea of indiscriminate amalgamation of the white and black races … A separation of the races is the only perfect

Who Killed Malcolm X?

By Sandeep S. Atwal June 1, 2010 "I want you to watch and see if I'm not right in what I say: that the white man in his press, is going to identify me with "hate." He will make use of me dead, as he has made use of me alive, as a convenient symbol of "hatred"—and that will help him to escape facing the truth."  — The Autobiography of Malcolm X I think it's safe to say that had Sirhan Sirhan, Arthur Bremer or Mark David Chapman been granted parole in early 2010, it would have made the news. When they're routinely denied parole it usually makes the news. Yet Thomas Hagan (aka Talmadge Hayer), one of the convicted assassins of Malcolm X--the only one caught at the scene and the only one to confess--was granted parole between the span of the morning and evening news of April 27, 2010 to little attention. But then, even in 2010, the gap between the public perception and the historical reality of Malcolm X remains as immense as it was in 1965. H
